Actor Tom Pelphrey returned to Guiding Light last month, almost six months after his character, Jonathan Randall, last appeared on the daytime drama.  Having laid low during his time away from the soap, Pelphrey is happy to be working on the show once again. "While I was away, I hung out and did a few random jobs," Pelphrey told Soap Opera Digest .  "I didn’t do much.  I hadn’t watched the show since I left, [so] it’s great to be back."

Back in December, we reported on how Mykel Shannon Jenkins, winner of season 1 of SOAPnet’s I Wanna Be A Soap Star , was upbeat despite his character’s demise on General Hospital .  Since then, he’s found another gig as Detective Charlie Baker on another daytime drama, The Bold and the Beautiful . It seems his positive attitude and dogged determination are now paying off, with a nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series at the 39th Annual NAACP Image Awards.
