Yesterday’s episode of The Young and the Restless has set some sort of TV record. Paul, portrayed by Doug Davidson , and Nikki, played by Melody Thomas Scott , finally had sex 30 years after the character last slept together. The unexpected reunion occurred after Nikki stood up to Victor ( Eric Braeden ) for blaming her for the notebook being in Genoa City. Shortly after, Paul offered Nikki a place to stay while she copes with the “death” of her best friend Kay ( Jeanne Cooper ) and recovers from her relationship with Victor. Eventually, the two reminisced about the past, fell into a passionate kiss and the basked in the afterglow of their lovemaking.

Abby Carlton, the daughter of Ashley Abbott ( Eileen Davidson ) and Victor Newman ( Eric Braeden ), has been portrayed by Darcy Rose Byrnes since the conception of the character on The Young and the Restless in 2003. Soon, however, her original portrayer will have to bid farewell to the character that catapulted her to soap opera stardom. According to Soaps.com, which first got word that the 10-year-old actress will be moving on from The Young and the Restless , the role of Abby Carlton is being aged and will eventually be recast.

Darcy Rose Byrnes to Leave ‘The Young and the Restless’
After only a few episodes credited to the young actress, Erin Sanders has departed from the set of The Young and the Restless . She was best known for her geeky persona on the Emmy-nominated Zoey 101 and it seemed as though she couldn’t hold on to a more serious role on the daytime drama. Leaving her Nickelodeon show was a big decision, and it was an even heavier choice to leave The Young and the Restless . Playing the rebellious Eden Baldwin on the said soap opera appeared to be a challenging feat for the budding actress. Sanders probably wasn’t a good fit for the role, but it was the fans who had difficulties sympathizing with the character. This led to the part being recast.
