As BuddyTV reported earlier this month , a new Adam will be wreaking havoc in Genoa City. The Young and the Restless has recast Chris Engen with Michael Muhney, a seasoned actor who is credited for his roles on Veronica Mars and The Huntress. It’s an unexpected move that has left fans of the long-running soap somewhat divided especially since the recast doesn’t revolve around money. Another actor on the long-running daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless has reportedly walked off the set during filming. The issue doesn’t revolve around money though, because this time it’s about sex. Chris Engen, who plays the “straight” Adam Newman on the show, refused to kiss co-star Yani Gellman in a scene. Gellman plays the only out gay character on the show, Rafe Torres. Since Engen was unhappy with the “dark direction” that his character is headed for, he stormed away while working on the show. He was far from pleased about the recent developments that Adam has undergone, particularly kissing another man. He may still be under contract with the soap, but they’ve already found a replacement for him: Veronica Mars’ Michael Muhney.

Contrary to ongoing reports, All My Children was never in danger of coming to an untimely demise unlike some of its villainous characters. A spokesperson for ABC Daytime disproved rumors reported by TV Guide Canada that the network came "this close to canceling AMC . Real close. Scary close." When the news swept across the internet, many fans of All My Children started to worry. Aside from reports that ABC nearly pulled the plug on All My Children, there were other factors that contributed to fans’ fears. First of all, the show’s ratings have eroded steadily over the past few years, and even the top-rated The Young and the Restless has recently been forced to trim its operating budget. Additionally, there was talk about All My Children ‘s ailing financial situation with Brian Frons, president of daytime for Disney-ABC Television Group, confirming that the network is having to "negotiate salaries down," including daytime’s best-known diva, Susan Lucci (Erica Kane).

All My Children: Not in Danger of Cancellation
There’s a lot of pairing on The Young and the Restless that have intrigued and fascinated the public over the years and Jack ( Peter Bergman ) and Sharon’s ( Sharon Case ) tandem is one of them. Jack was once Genoa City’s resident playboy while Sharon, who grew up with modest means, was the former wife of Nick Newman. While there were a lot of good moments between this Young and the Restless supercouple, they have also endured a lot of thorns in their relationship. In fact, Sharon and Jack’s marriage has often been rocky due to Jack’s constant lying. And while Sharon confronted him about this and all of the empty promises he made to her, she decided that their marriage was still worth fighting for and she would not leave him no matter what. Recently, however, it seems that Sharon has had it with Jack’s lies, despite the fact that he is now telling her the complete truth. Now, she’s filed for divorce and there’s no telling if she’s ever going to forgive him.
